Throughout the ages the Grim Reaper has been known as the one who collects your immortal soul and takes you on your final journey from this existence. Being a Participant in the Grim Reaper Commemorative Crew is a way of memorializing one's lost friends and the ideals we shared with them. It's making a statement that we are the ones that will carry on those ideals. Webster's New World Dictionary: Participant; A person who shares in something. You don't join the GRCC, you participate and share with others, the pride associated with expressing our feelings of the loss of persons that had the same ideals as us but have taken their final journey. The GRCC is an expression of beliefs that those that have passed before us will be memorialized forever. The GRCC is not affiliated with any clubs, societies or associations. It is a group of individuals sharing in a common cause. HISTORY In 1968 the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club was formed by a group of motorcycle riders in upstate New York, U.S.A. They were Veterans of the Korean and Viet Nam wars as well as friends new and old. All had certain things in common that bonded them, motorcycles, love of freedom and their individualisms. The group adopted as their patch their custom version of the Grim Reaper. In 2001, after years of riding the few that were left had a "Get Together", remembering the good times that were had by all. They memorialized and commemorated those that had taken their final ride with the Reaper, their Veteran brothers, Law Enforcement, Firefighters and others that lived and died for their common ideals of freedom and individualism. They dedicated a version of the original Patch (above) to be worn by all who shared in these ideals. PARTICIPATION Now this International Patch, Certificate and a place on the Memorial list for the departed, is available to all that want to show they are commemorating our fallen brothers and sisters and continuing their lifestyle of Freedom and Individualism. (For each new Participant a $1.00 donation will be made to the "Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation") As Participants of the "Grim Reaper Commemorative Crew" wearing the patch will show that you honor those that have taken their final journey with the Grim Reaper. I am the Grim Reaper! I am not an Angel or Devil! I do not take you to Heaven or Hell! I tap you on the shoulder and say – I am the messenger! I have been sent here to take you from this life to another! I only guide you to your destination! It is with my regret that I must do so! However, I have been summoned to take you and others to your final journey! This task that I have been burdened with weighs heavy on my arm! I did not choose to carry you to the beyond! I am only the Messenger!
